When it comes to eating fruit, this makes a lot of sense. Consider for yourself. A well-stocked fruit bowl clearly in sight reminds you more frequently to grab the daily portion. So, actually, a fruit bowl is quite essential. On top of this, healthy snacking is also contagious. Another study has shown that children who often see their parents eat a piece of fruit or another healthy snack are more likely to do so themselves.

What makes this bamboo fruit bowl special?

Our fruit bowl stems from one of our own designs: the bambox. A year ago, we designed a gift box that would serve as circular gift wrapping. The box can be completely dismantled and subsequently transformed into a sushi set and bamboo fruit bowl. The many positive reactions that followed made us decide to release the fruit bowl separately as well. The concept? Three compartments of certified bamboo produced in the Netherlands. The outcome? A DIY fruit bowl.

How does the bamboo fruit bowl work?

You can assemble it yourself very easily. Just click the three planks into each other. By doing so, you create the perfect match for your dining table, kitchen or (home) office, which makes even the freshest fruit look even more delicious.

Sustainable and animal-friendly bamboo

Like many of our products, this beautiful fruit bowl consists of bamboo. A very suitable material for cutlery because it naturally is antibacterial. In addition, for various reasons, bamboo is also highly sustainable. First of all, it is the fastest-growing plant in the world. The kind we use, moso bamboo, grows up to one meter per day under optimal conditions.

The origin and cycle of a bamboo plant are also very sustainable. Bamboo does not grow from seeds but one extensive root system. Using at least five-year-old bamboo keeps the root system healthy and intact, and new branches grow constantly. 

Most importantly, however, we are not a threat to pandas. Their diet consists of more than 90% bamboo. Fortunately, they prefer to eat the leaves that grow close to the ground. Therefore, their choice does not fall on moso bamboo. The leaves of this kind grow too high.
